Keeping my promise of brining reviews to best of the best movies of Sci Fi genre, I am here again to write over Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: The best of the best narration of romance with using elements of science fiction, non-linear narration and subconscious visions.

Have you cried a lot in some corner for your helplessness in forgetting someone, you loved very much? Have you ever been angry with someone you loved very much and got him/ her leaving you forever? Have you ever wished that what if you two might have never met before or what if there was something which could have really erased him/ her from your mind completely like it never come back by any means? Can we forget someone we really loved a lot, even after there mistakes?

That’s from where the title of the movie is taken, Alexander Pope’s poem. Joining the words Eternal Sunshine and Spotless mind results in one of the most tender and mind bending romantic sci fi movie ever.



Joel and Clementine after courting and felling in love with each other for last few years, going through rough patch in their relationship and at one valentine, Joel finds himself heartbroken, when he come to see that impulsive Clementine now don’t even know him as she got herself treated from some clinic using a new science procedure of erasing selected parts of your memory.

How you will feel and what you will say, when you know that your feelings, words and tears already don’t matter as the person next to you already moved on. You know that you left with only option to move on, but is that go easy? Joel does the same by visiting the same clinic and asks for the same procedure for himself. But any science procedure could erase portions of memory of whatever might have happen, but little does it know about why Joel loved her so much in spite of her all mistakes.




Joel’s mind under the procedure starts to fight for his relation even when he know that its done now. Will the fight get a happy ending? Are these two lovers really destined to meet? Will an impulse override the passion you feel for someone?
